The Consultant

I have been employed in the National Health Service for the last 23 years.
The Parenting Consultancy emerged as a result of eight years of experience
working as a health visitor. As a parent of two children I am only too aware of the challenges and demands of rearing children in today’s society. It seems like only yesterday I was attending playgroups, helping in nursery and juggling childcare!
Today I am faced with new challenges as my children approach their teenage years.

As a visitor to the homes of families, during pregnancy, from birth and with school
age children, I have been privileged to share the many complexities of family life.
I have helped parents to adjust to their changing roles using knowledge and skills from midwifery, counselling, public health, a facilitator of parenting programmes and working closely with statutory and voluntary organisations. I am passionate about parents support – both emotional and practical – and the Parenting Consultancy is intended to extend and compliment the range of support available to parents.
